The Art of Giving

"Staying Rooted" mixed medium
Each year I try to gift a piece of my artwork. This is not a donation for a non-profit.
This is a gift to friends, family, clients, artists, or strangers.
This is my gift to someone who appreciates the art I create.
This year I held the gift-away during the month of April.
Which is Earth Month. The tree is a symbol people recognize when it
comes to saving the earth. I picked one of my small drippy tree
artworks as the gift. I ask people to write one word or one sentence to be entered
into the random selection at the end of April.
A young woman, Stephanie Gardiner from North Carolina won.
It is always a pleasure to read what everyone writes. The words are my payment.
I thank you all for taking part in celebrating this Earth Month with me and sharing your words.
I will end with a quote from "How To Be More Tree" by Liz Marvin
"Acquaint yourself with dozens of trees
and the essential life lessons they have
to offer. By taking cues from Mother
Nature, you might be surprised to find
yourself breathing easier, embracing
change, weathering storms, and being
just a little more tree."
Thank you, take care, be safe, linda hp
